February 8, 2023

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on February 8, 2023, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the Vice President of the Board, Penny Oedekoven at 8:05 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Gary Velder, Penny Oedekoven, Richard Harmon, Judy Heisler, Mike Wolff and Dallas Conner.  

Motion by Judy Heisler, second Richard Harmon to adopt the agenda, motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular January 9, 2023, meeting were read and approved on a motion by Judy Heisler and second by Gary Velder.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second Richard Harmon.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

  • Land purchase – Motion by Gary Velder, second Richard Harmon to approve the purchase of 2 acres of land for $5,000/acre for the placement of the new well. Motion carried.


New Business:

  • Billing postcards – Dallas Conner presented information on using postcards versus the current paper statements.  Motion by Richard Harmon, seconded by Gary Velder to switch to postcard billing. Motion carried.
  • Safe deposit signatures – Motion by Judy Heisler, seconded by Penny Oedekoven to remove Kim Baker and ad CharLee Bachman to the safe deposit box.  Motion carried.


Office Manager Report: 

  • Server we be installed starting this week.  It will be nice to have this project finished.


Manager Report:

  • Mike contacted Todd Komes regarding fixing the office.  He is busy and won’t have time for several months.
  • Several leaks over 3 days on 194th. Cold temperatures made for a tough fix.
  • Put in 2 new valves.
  • Possible leak at the Vale tank.
  • There is a 753 Bobcat at surplus that would be a good purchase for the district.  It is on hold by someone.  Mike will let the board know if it sells.
  • Capp Ranch is being sold.  There is a possibility for 2 new taps depending on how it sells.
  • There is pipe in Mud Butte that was going to be used for a man camp for the Keystone pipeline for sale.  Mike will go up to look at it & determine if it is usable.


Motion by Gary Velder, second Richard Harmon, the meeting was adjourned at 8:47 am.
